Human beings tend to be sturdy, durable creatures. typical life-span in the developed countries is now 76-80 years! As scientific and medical understanding progresses, we have now come to realize that there are both short term issues and intermediate to long-term aspects which have an effect on Human health.
In nutrition, this means that there is a minimum amount of Vitamin C we need to keep from getting scurvy.
